{"id":5531,"date":"2024-07-19T22:15:35","date_gmt":"2024-07-19T16:30:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nepalsamaj.com\/en\/?p=5531"},"modified":"2024-07-19T22:15:35","modified_gmt":"2024-07-19T16:30:35","slug":"turkish-airlines-cancels-84-flights-after-it-outage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nepalsamaj.com\/en\/turkish-airlines-cancels-84-flights-after-it-outage\/","title":{"rendered":"Turkish Airlines cancels 84 flights after IT outage"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p>Turkish Airlines announced on Friday it cancelled 84 flights after a global IT outage wrought havoc on computer systems worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>The technical glitch grounded flights in the United States, derailed television broadcasts in the UK and impacted telecommunications in Australia.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In order to avoid any disruption, some flights will be cancelled and our flights will gradually return to normal as soon as possible,&#8221; Yahya Ustun of Turkish Airlines announced on X.<\/p>\n<p>Most of the Turkish flagship carrier&#8217;s cancelled flights were domestic and to and from Europe.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are working to reduce our operational intensity in order to solve the software-related problem that affects many companies from different sectors around the world,&#8221; Ustun said.<\/p>\n<p>Turkey&#8217;s Information and Communication Technologies Authority said in a statement the disruption was not caused by a cyberattack.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The disruption occurred in institutions and organisations using the CrowdStrike product,&#8221; it added.<\/p>\n<p>DenizBank, a private bank based in Turkey and owned by Emirates NBD, said in a message to customers on X that it was &#8220;working to eliminate the disruption&#8221;.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Turkish Airlines announced on Friday it cancelled 84 flights after a global IT outage wrought havoc on computer systems worldwide.
