Once a rowdy tusker, Ronaldo, was found in a lifeless condition at Barandabhar area of Chitwan National Park (CNP) with its body tangled with electric wire.<\/p>\n<p>Information officer at CNP, Abinash Thapamagar, said the elephant was discovered enmeshed in a wire supplying electricity from Tikauli Gate to Barandabhar Post. The forest officials saw the plastic-coated wire into the tusker&#8217;s trunk. The trunk might have come in contact with the power supply managed 16 feet above the ground.<\/p>\n<p>The officer further guessed that the elephant was electrocuted last night as it touched the wire during the movement.<\/p>\n<p>Ronaldo was of around 45 years and it was an aggressive pachyderm in the past. Though there is no exact data, it might have taken the lives of five or six persons in its temper, according to Thapamagar.<\/p>\n<p>Manipuran Chaudhary from the Elephant Breeding and Training Centre at Khorsor informed that there were 33 calves in the Centre which were sired by Ronaldo as it began frequenting the Centre since the 2065\/66 BS. With its sharply declined temper in recent years, the stud had been breeding with most of the female elephant at the Centre.<\/p>\n<p>Chaudhary said, &#8220;Since 2050BS, total 71 calves have born at the Centre, and Ronaldo was the father of 33 of them.&#8221; The facility was established in 2044BS.<\/p>\n<p>For the past two months, the tusker had not visited Khorsor area. &#8220;There was no elephant as calm as Ronaldo in the recent past.
