Kathmandu, Sept 15: In today’s meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR), MPs urged that the DNA test reports of families of people who went missing in the Bhotekoshi flood should be expedited and emphasized focusing on search and rescue efforts during disasters.<\/p>\n

Seeking time from the Speaker during a session of the lower house of the Federal Parliament today, Indira Rana Magar, MP from the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), said that the government should address urgent issues, including mental health treatment for those affected by disasters.<\/p>\n

Khushbu Oli, a member of parliament from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), said that the families of the victims have started asking them as to when the report of the DNA test of people missing in the flood will be available.<\/p>\n

RSP MP Samiksha Banskota commented that the act of interviewing patients who were critically injured due to the Bhotekoshi floods and are in the hospital’s intensive care unit has raised serious questions about health and media regulations.<\/p>\n

CPN-UML MP Ain Bahadur Mahar urged the government to speed up the search as the suffering of people missing in the Bhotekoshi flood.<\/p>\n

Nepali Communist Party (NCP) MP Ramesh Malla gave an example of a woman who died after slipping off a motorcycle and urged paying attention to things like road safety to prevent such incidents.<\/p>\n

NCP MP Parbati BK demanded that laws be made to address such issues, pointing out that a girl has been on the streets for a long time due to Dalits not being able to get rooms on rent in the city.
\nRSP MP Manish Khanal expressed concern over the rising cases of murders within families and called for conducting a study on it and strong preventive action. Fellow party MP Sunil KC urged caution, saying that last night\u2019s flood in Manohara Khola made things unsafe.<\/p>\n

MP Deepak Kumar Sah (Mahottari) urged for investigation and action on incidents where lives are taken due to personal or social disputes. UML MP Ganesh Singh Thagunna said that relief and rescue operations haven\u2019t been able to move quickly because the local level is not adequately prepared for natural disaster events.<\/p>\n

RSP MP Mohanlal Acharya drew attention to the situation in Bandegun. Nepali Congress MP Khadka Bhadur Budha, RSP MP Govinda Panthi, and NCP MP Gopal Sharma urged attention to the serious issues of floods, landslides, and road accidents.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
