The event, organised by the Gharapjhong Rural Municipality of Mustang, was inaugurated by Minister for Agriculture, Forest and Environment Gita Chaudhary.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to this, people&#8217;s representatives from all seven provinces and local levels, including the Chief Guest had gathered at the rural municipality office at Jomsom and reached the event venue accompanied by a cultural procession.<\/p>\n<p>According to rural municipality chair Mohan Singh Lalchan, the inaugural session would last for around three hours. During the inaugural session, a message of best wishes sent by Prime Minister Balendra Shah was read out.<\/p>\n<p>Local people&#8217;s representatives from the district are scheduled to address the session focusing on climate change impacts on various areas in Nepal.<\/p>\n<p>The event is expected to seriously discuss about climate change impacts in mountainous, hills and Terai regions, exchanging views on causes of carbon emissions and ways for mitigating the impacts.<br \/>\nThe conference will conclude issuing a &#8220;Climate Declaration 2026&#8221; focusing on climate action plans and climate justice.<\/p>\n<p>Discussions will be held from various perspectives regarding future plans and climate adaptation measures that the local governments should adopt to mitigate climate crisis, a pressing issue of global concern.<\/p>\n<p>It will prioritise discussions on the risks posed by the climate crisis which is further triggered by the rising global temperatures. Various sectors such as agriculture, livestock farming, tourism, education, health, infrastructure and the environment in addition to human life and physical assets have been bearing the brunt of climate change.
