Kathmandu, September 14: A large number of women observing the Haritalika Teej fast have lined up at the Pashupatinath Temple in Kathmandu since early morning to offer prayers and worship on the occasion of Haritalika Teej.<\/p>\n

The Pashupati Area Development Trust said all four doors of the Pashupatinath Temple were opened from 3 a.m. to facilitate devotees observing the fast. Four separate routes have been arranged for devotees to enter the temple and receive darshan.<\/p>\n

According to Trust Member Secretary Tirtha Shrestha, the first route starts from Mitrapark and passes through Umakunda, Dakshinamurti and Kailash Badrinarasimha Bhawan before reaching the northern gate of Vasukinath. Devotees are then directed to the northern ramp of the Pashupatinath Temple for darshan before exiting through the western gate.<\/p>\n

The second route starts from Jayabageshwori and passes through Dathutol, Pacha Ganesh, Annapurna Bhandar and the area in front of Mahasnan Ghar. Devotees cross a temporary footbridge and proceed through Bhuvaneshwari, Nasal Chowk and Shankaracharya Math before reaching the western side of the temple.<\/p>\n

A third route has been arranged for devotees arriving from Sinamangal and the airport area. They enter through the gate near the Tilganga Tourism Counter and proceed through Ram Mandir, the Bagmati riverbank and Aryaghat before reaching the eastern gate of the temple for darshan.<\/p>\n

Devotees arriving from Pingalasthan have been provided another route through Char Shivalaya, Panchadeval Briddhashram and Chaunsathi Kotilingeshwar to the southern side of the temple. They return through the area west of the Unmatta Bhairav Temple.<\/p>\n

The Trust said devotees have been able to receive darshan within around 30 minutes of joining the queue during the morning hours. Despite intermittent monsoon rain, devotees continued to wait in line for worship.<\/p>\n

Around 4,000 security personnel and 855 volunteers from 24 religious and social organizations have been deployed in the Pashupati area for the Teej festival.<\/p>\n

Arrangements have also been made to distribute sandalwood paste to devotees at Sanosadabarta Sattal, Tilganga, Umakunda, Jayabageshwori and Gaushala.<\/p>\n

On the occasion of Haritalika Teej, devotees have also gathered at Shiva temples across the country. In Kathmandu Valley, large crowds have been reported at Gokarneshwar, Nageshwar, Makhan Mahadev in the Basantapur Durbar Square area, Doleshwar and Tripureshwar temples, among others.<\/p>\n
