{"id":53819,"date":"2026-08-28T14:40:46","date_gmt":"2026-08-28T08:55:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nepalsamaj.com\/en\/?p=53819"},"modified":"2026-08-28T14:40:46","modified_gmt":"2026-08-28T08:55:46","slug":"644-foreign-nationals-among-2381-missing-so-far-due-to-bhotekoshi-flash-flood-disaster","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nepalsamaj.com\/en\/644-foreign-nationals-among-2381-missing-so-far-due-to-bhotekoshi-flash-flood-disaster\/","title":{"rendered":"644 foreign nationals among 2,381 missing so far due to Bhotekoshi flash flood disaster"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p>Kathmandu, Aug 28: Two thousand three hundred and eighty-one people, including 644 foreign nationals, are unaccounted for after the Rasuwa flood, according to police.<\/p>\n<p>Similarly, 127 Nepali citizens who came to Nepal for travel from abroad are also out of contact.<br \/>\nAmong the 644 foreign nationals missing after the devastating flood include 178 Indians.<\/p>\n<p>Also among the missing foreigners are 65 people from the USA, 53 from Ukraine, 51 from Malaysia, 35 from Australia, 33 from the UK, 25 from Canada, nine from Singapore, eight from Germany, eight from Russia, six from South Africa, six from Latvia, five from Japan, five from New Zealand, four from France, three from Belgium, and three from Spain.<\/p>\n<p>According to the police, two citizens each from Kazakhstan, Portugal, Ireland, Italy, and the Netherlands, and one citizen each from Sweden, Hungary, Serbia, Switzerland, Israel, the Philippines, Finland, Belarus, Lithuania, and Bulgaria are also out of contact.<\/p>\n<p>Similarly, police said of the 1,737 Nepali citizens (excluding from Rasuwa) who are missing after the disaster, 132 are from Koshi Province, 128 from Madhes Province, 826 from Bagmati Province (excluding Rasuwa), 126 from Gandaki Province, 188 from Lumbini Province, 208 from Karnali Province, and 129 from Sudurpaschim Province.<\/p>\n<p>So far, a total of 1,545 people, including 644 people in Rasuwa, 898 in Nuwakot, and three in Dhading have been rescued, Nepal Police spokesperson and Deputy Inspector General of Police Abhinarayan Kafle informed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kathmandu, Aug 28: Two thousand three hundred and eighty-one people, including 644 foreign nationals, are unaccounted for after the Rasuwa flood, according to police.
