Kathmandu, July 31: The Nepali Congress (NC) is to hold dialogue with different political parties, social organisations, government and other stakeholders at respective level for social harmony, religious tolerance and unity.<\/p>\n

An emergency meeting of the NC Central Working Committee held today in the context of Kaptanganj incident of Sunsari and tense surfaced in different Tarai districts after Kaptanganj incident decided that committees of all levels of the party would take such initiatives up to ward levels.<\/p>\n

The meeting paid tribute to the people who lost their lives in recent tragic incidents, expressed condolences to the bereaved family members and wished for speedy recovery to injured citizens and security personnel.<\/p>\n

It also demanded formation of high-level judicial probe committee for fair, independent and accountable investigation into the incidents. The NC shared that it would continuously raise question to the government for formation of judicial probe committee, to provide free treatment arrangement to injured ones, to provide compensation to the losses of the property caused from vandalism and arson.<\/p>\n

Stating that citizens’ safety, social harmony, religious tolerance and national unity are the first priority of the NC during this difficult and sensitive time, the NC opined that it would take the initiative responsibly.<\/p>\n

The meeting took the decision that the NC-led Madhes province government, local government and people’s representatives would take special activeness to provide necessary support for citizens’ safety, social harmony, tolerance as well as for social harmony campaign.<\/p>\n

The NC members have been asked not to involve in spreading false information, rumors in sensitive issues as well as not to encourage such activities.<\/p>\n

Acting Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Dulal opined that it would not be acceptable to the party if any individual or members who are in party’s any tank and file is found involve in violence or activities disrupting social harmony and action would be taken against them as per party’s statute.<\/p>\n

NC office-bearers and members, parliamentary party leader and lawmakers, central, province and district-level leaders of the concerned districts including Madhes province and Sunsari, Morang, available in Kathmandu, were present in the meeting chaired by NC president Gagan Kumar Thapa.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
