Kathmandu, July 26: The question paper for the Master of Business Studies (MBS) First Semester examination of Tribhuvan University (TU) was leaked through a WhatsApp group within six minutes of the start of the examination on July 24.<\/p>\n

The leaked question paper was reportedly circulated in the group, where some participants sought solutions to the questions and even offered to pay for the answers, raising serious concerns about the integrity of the examination process.<\/p>\n

After the incident came to the notice of the Ministry of Education and Sports, Minister Sasmit Pokharel took this matter as a serious breach of academic ethics. The minister said this incident has undermined the credibility of the university’s examination system and jeopardized the future of thousands of students.<\/p>\n

Acting swiftly, the ministry coordinated with Nepal Police to identify those exam paper leakers. According to officials, police arrested the two main suspects within 24 hours of the incident.<\/p>\n

The incident sparked widespread criticism, as the suspects allegedly exploited mobile phones and digital platforms to leak the examination paper while examination was taking place.<\/p>\n

Following the leak, Minister Pokharel held a telephone conversation with Nepal Police Chief Dan Bahadur Karki, directing the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) and the Cyber Bureau to launch an immediate investigation and work round the clock to identify those responsible.<\/p>\n

A technical team of the Nepal Police conducted a detailed analysis of the WhatsApp group and its digital footprint. Based on the investigation, police arrested the alleged mastermind behind the leak, identified as Sulab Sir, along with another suspect within 24 hours.<\/p>\n

In this context, Minister Pokharel reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring fairness and transparency in university examinations and other academic institutions. He also warned that strict action would be taken against anyone found involved in such malpractices.<\/p>\n

The minister further said that the university’s internal mechanisms for handling examinations and safeguarding question papers would be probed to determine the carelessness, if any.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Office of the Dean of the Faculty of Management at Tribhuvan University has formed a three-member probe committee under the coordination of Prof. Dr. Achyut Gyawali to investigate the incident and recommend appropriate action.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
