{"id":51469,"date":"2026-07-18T20:05:31","date_gmt":"2026-07-18T14:20:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nepalsamaj.com\/en\/?p=51469"},"modified":"2026-07-18T20:05:31","modified_gmt":"2026-07-18T14:20:31","slug":"jhapa-witnesses-damages-worth-rs-220-million-in-disasters-in-last-fy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nepalsamaj.com\/en\/jhapa-witnesses-damages-worth-rs-220-million-in-disasters-in-last-fy\/","title":{"rendered":"Jhapa witnesses damages worth Rs 220 million in disasters in last FY"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p><strong>Jhapa, July 18:<\/strong> The Jhapa district lost 11 people and property worth almost Rs 220 million in different natural disaster-related incidents in the last fiscal year.<\/p>\n<p>Information Officer of District Police Office Jhapa, Deputy Superintendent of Police Ranjan Awa, shared that a total of 359 cases of disasters were recorded in the district, injuring 37 people in the last fiscal year.<br \/>\nThe police said that 156 cases of fire, 94 cases of human-wildlife conflicts, 52 of storms, 35 of flooding and inundation and 22 of lightning were recorded in the district.<\/p>\n<p>DSP Awa said that two people succumbed to fire, six in human-wildlife conflicts, one in storms and two others lost their lives in lightning incidents.<\/p>\n<p>Likewise, a large number of cattle died in those incidents.<\/p>\n<p>DSP Awa shared that property worth Rs 152.2 gutted in fire-related incidents and flooding and inundation caused damage to properties worth more than Rs 63.4 million.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jhapa, July 18: The Jhapa district lost 11 people and property worth almost Rs 220 million in different natural disaster-related incidents in the last fiscal year.
