He held a bilateral meeting with his Indian counterpart Dr S Jaishankar where they dwelt on entire gamut of bilateral relations. The visit was fruitful, Khanal claimed.<\/p>\n<p>Topics like trade and economic cooperation, connectivity, energy partnership, management of hydro resources, sports and promotion of people-to-people relations were discussed during the meeting. Both sides agreed to reinforce bilateral relations and continue exchanging views on various regional and international matters.<\/p>\n<p>The Minister also made aware the parliament that the two sides exchanged memorandum of understanding to advance digital technologies and digital payment system between the two countries.<br \/>\nThe Minister also made aware the lawmakers that the Foreign Ministers of Nepal and India jointly launched the Peer-to-Peer (P2P) linkage between Unified Payments Interface (UPI) of India and National Payments Interface (NPI) of Nepal for facilitating cross-border personal remittances between India and Nepal.<\/p>\n<p>They also witnessed the signing of MoU between Digital India Bhashini and the Kathmandu University for co-creating National Digital Infrastructure for \u201cVoice First\u201d Language Translation platform.<br \/>\nOn the occasion, India had handed over the projects completed on its funding on the reconstruction following 2015 Earthquake in Nepal.<\/p>\n<p>The Minister also held meeting with other dignitaries like National Security Advisor of Indian government, Ajit Doval, and exchanged views on common security interest of Nepal and India, border management and strategic partnership between the two countries.<\/p>\n<p>Even an interaction was held at a programme organized by India Foundation on energy, trade and border, which are common interests of both countries, according to him.<\/p>\n<p>He argued, &#8220;The discussion and high level meeting would contribute to reaching Nepal-India cooperation to a new height.&#8221; The Foreign Minister viewed, &#8220;I believe the visit has created a solid foundation for fostering further cooperation in a resulted-oriented manner. We&#8217;ve got an opportunity to articulate well for making our balanced, independent and multidimensional relations further strong.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, the visit has created a solid foundation for expanding trade and investment, energy cooperation, tourism promotion and connectivity and strengthening of people-to-people relations. &#8220;Contemporary international issues including regional stability, supply chain security and energy partnerships were the issues where two countries could exchange views,&#8221; Khanal reminded.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kathmandu, June 10: Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal today shared information before the federal parliament on his recent visit to India.
