Kathmandu, May 30:<\/strong> Outdoor apparel brand The North Face<\/span><\/span> successfully concluded its \u201cMountain Quest\u201d celebration to commemorate International Mount Everest Day 2026, attracting more than 1,000 participants, supporters, and adventure enthusiasts at Gokarna Forest Resort<\/span><\/span> on May 29.<\/p>\n

The event brought together trail runners, mountaineers, adventure athletes, and members of Nepal\u2019s outdoor community in a lively celebration of endurance, resilience, and the rich culture of the Himalayas.<\/p>\n

A key highlight of the program was the 7.5-kilometre Night Trail Run, which saw the participation of 400 runners, including 317 men and 83 women. Organizers reported that the overall event drew more than 1,000 attendees, including over 600 guests and supporters.<\/p>\n

In the Elite Men\u2019s category, Sanjay Tamang<\/span><\/span> secured first place, followed by Diwakar Budha Magar<\/span><\/span> in second and Riturag Rokaya<\/span><\/span> in third.<\/p>\n

The Elite Women\u2019s title was claimed by Manju Sunuwar<\/span><\/span>, while Marie Eggen Norloff<\/span><\/span> finished second and Chhiring Ongmu Sherpa<\/span><\/span> secured third place.<\/p>\n

In the Regular Men\u2019s division, Fura Chheten Sherpa<\/span><\/span> emerged victorious, followed by Anurag Rokaya<\/span><\/span> and Nabin Khadka<\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Similarly, Gita Maharjan<\/span><\/span> won the Regular Women\u2019s category, with Klara Berggren<\/span><\/span> finishing second and Alexandra Wrigle<\/span><\/span> placing third.<\/p>\n

The top three finishers in the Elite categories received cash prizes, with winners awarded USD 200, runners-up USD 150, and third-place finishers USD 100. All participants were presented with finisher medals, commemorative The North Face T-shirts, and Mountain Man Energy Bars.<\/p>\n

Organizers said the free-entry event helped attract a large number of runners and spectators. They noted that the Night Trail Run was designed to symbolize resilience, endurance, and the spirit of exploring the unknown\u2014qualities closely associated with Mount Everest and the Himalayan region.<\/p>\n

Beyond the race, the Mountain Quest celebration featured panel discussions on outdoor adventure and mountain culture, as well as a donation initiative in support of the Sagarmatha Pollution Control Committee<\/span><\/span>, reinforcing the event\u2019s commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable mountain tourism.<\/p>\n
