Kathmandu: The Embassy of Nepal, Beijing<\/span><\/span> organized a special ceremony to commemorate the 2570th Buddha Jayanti at its premises in Beijing.<\/p>\n

The event was graced by Chang Zang<\/span><\/span>, Vice President of the Buddhist Association of China<\/span><\/span> and Abbot of Lingguang Temple<\/span><\/span>, as the Chief Guest.<\/p>\n

In her welcome remarks, Charge d\u2019Affaires a.i. Roshan Khanal<\/span><\/span> highlighted the significance of Buddha Jayanti as a sacred day marking the birth, enlightenment, and Parinirvana of Lord Buddha. She also emphasized the importance of Lumbini<\/span><\/span> as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the birthplace of Buddha, underscoring his teachings of peace, harmony, generosity, and liberation from suffering.<\/p>\n

Chief Guest Chang Zang expressed confidence in further strengthening Nepal-China people-to-people ties, noting that Buddhism has long connected the two nations. He praised Nepal as the sacred birthplace of Buddha, deeply revered by Buddhists worldwide.<\/p>\n

During the ceremony, monks offered prayers for global peace and harmony. The program also featured a yoga and singing bowl meditation session conducted by Guru Ramesh Sitaula. Vegetarian Nepali cuisine was served to participants as Prasad.<\/p>\n

The event was attended by approximately 120 participants, including representatives from China\u2019s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ambassadors, members of diplomatic missions in Beijing, the Nepali community, and Chinese friends of Nepal.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
