{"id":46128,"date":"2026-04-18T11:55:44","date_gmt":"2026-04-18T06:10:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nepalsamaj.com\/en\/?p=46128"},"modified":"2026-04-18T11:55:44","modified_gmt":"2026-04-18T06:10:44","slug":"health-ministry-to-grant-two-day-public-holiday-in-public-hospitals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nepalsamaj.com\/en\/health-ministry-to-grant-two-day-public-holiday-in-public-hospitals\/","title":{"rendered":"Health Ministry to grant two-day public holiday in public hospitals"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p>Kathmandu, April 18: Ministry of Health and Population has decided to grant two-day public holiday in public hospitals on Saturday and Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Spokesperson at the Minstry, Dr Prakash Budhathoki said that arrangement to give a two-day public holiday on Saturday and Sunday has also been implemented in hospitals as per the notice published in the National Gazette on last April 4.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the ministry had directed the operation of outpatient services on Sunday as well.<br \/>\n&#8220;in-patient and emergency services will continue 24 hours as usual taking into consideration of the morale and interests of healthcare workers and continuous patient care, as well as the government&#8217;s policy of a two-day public holiday per week. The pre-scheduled surgeries and other services for patient convenience on Sundays will be &#8216;rescheduled to implement the arrangement&#8221;, it is shared.<\/p>\n<p>Budhathoki requested hospitals to provide services on holidays as much as possible to ensure that patients do not face any hardship.<\/p>\n<p>Likewise, the ministry has urged all hospitals to arrange for smooth referrals to nearby suitable hospitals for services not available at the hospital and to keep ambulances ready at all times.<\/p>\n<p>For public information, the ministry has provided details of services available on holidays on its website for public information.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kathmandu, April 18: Ministry of Health and Population has decided to grant two-day public holiday in public hospitals on Saturday and Sunday.
