{"id":44474,"date":"2026-03-21T13:45:21","date_gmt":"2026-03-21T08:00:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nepalsamaj.com\/en\/?p=44474"},"modified":"2026-03-21T13:45:21","modified_gmt":"2026-03-21T08:00:21","slug":"two-die-in-road-accident-in-the-capital","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nepalsamaj.com\/en\/two-die-in-road-accident-in-the-capital\/","title":{"rendered":"Two die in road accident in the capital"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p>Kathmandu, March 21: Two persons died after being knocked down by a bus at Bhotebahal of Kathmandu on Friday night.<\/p>\n<p>The deceased have been identified as Padam Upadhyay, 45, and Satish Kumar 37-year-old Satish Kumar Kushwaha of India, according to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office.<\/p>\n<p>According to Naresh Raj Subedi, Superintendent of Police (SP) and Spokesperson for the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police, the pedestrians were struck by a bus (with registration no Bagmati Pradesh-3-01-005 Kha 9298) belonging to Om Janata Transport.<br \/>\nThe incident took place while the bus was travelling from Kalimati towards Tripureshwor.<\/p>\n<p>Critically injured in the incident, both men were rushed to the National Trauma Centre where they breathed their last during the treatment on Friday night itself, added SP Subedi.<\/p>\n<p>Police have arrested the bus driver, 35-year-old Man Bahadur Basnet, originally from Dolakha district and currently residing in Kapan, Kathmandu.<br \/>\nThe Kalimati Police Circle is conducting further investigation into the incident, according to SP Subedi.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kathmandu, March 21: Two persons died after being knocked down by a bus at Bhotebahal of Kathmandu on Friday night.
