{"id":41753,"date":"2026-02-07T12:27:58","date_gmt":"2026-02-07T06:42:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nepalsamaj.com\/en\/?p=41753"},"modified":"2026-02-07T12:27:58","modified_gmt":"2026-02-07T06:42:58","slug":"landslide-prevention-works-begin-on-beni-jomsom-road","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nepalsamaj.com\/en\/landslide-prevention-works-begin-on-beni-jomsom-road\/","title":{"rendered":"Landslide prevention works begin on Beni-Jomsom road"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p>Myagdi, Feb 7: The landslide prevention works have begun on the Myagdi section along the Beni-Jomsom-Korala road connecting China and India.<\/p>\n<p>The Beni-Jomsom-Korala Road Project Office has started planning to prevent landslides and river erosion on the road at a cost of Rs 250 million.<\/p>\n<p>Landslides and erosion have been creating regular traffic disruptions on the road.<br \/>\nProject&#8217;s sub-engineer Bahadur Shah informed that the contractor has set a target to complete the work within the current fiscal year.<\/p>\n<p>He said the landslide and erosion prevention plan is being implemented in Raghuganga Rural Municipality-2, including lower and upper Baisari, Nagdhunga, Guithebhir, Khambhitta, Latokhola, Rupse, Setokhola, and Larjung sections.<\/p>\n<p>Shah said that techniques such as \u2018rock anchoring\u2019, \u2018palm wall\u2019 and \u2018bioengineering\u2019, among others are being used for landslide prevention.<\/p>\n<p>In Annapurna Rural Municipality-3, Bamti\/Konda\/Tista JV has secured a contract amounting to Rs 70 million to prevent landslides over a 300-metre area in the Khambhitta region of Dana.<\/p>\n<p>In Guithebhir of Annapurna-3, GSPL\/Buddhisara JV has signed a contract of Rs 90 million to prevent landslides on a 300-metre stretch of road.<\/p>\n<p>Gajendra Construction Services has received a contract worth Rs 70 million to prevent landslides on Latokhola, Rupse, Nagdhunga and Setokhola sections.<\/p>\n<p>On the Rupse section, placement of concrete has been completed over a distance of 160 meters. Likewise, on Latokhola, widening the area using rock anchoring has reached the final stage.<\/p>\n<p>GSI\/Hutaraj JV has received a contract of Rs 20 million to prevent landslides in the lower and upper Baisari areas.<\/p>\n<p>By drilling into the hill beneath the road, placing rods, concreting to make a base, and constructing a solid wall, the road towards Dil has been widened.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Myagdi, Feb 7: The landslide prevention works have begun on the Myagdi section along the Beni-Jomsom-Korala road connecting China and India.
