{"id":40654,"date":"2026-01-23T10:20:11","date_gmt":"2026-01-23T04:35:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nepalsamaj.com\/en\/?p=40654"},"modified":"2026-01-23T10:20:11","modified_gmt":"2026-01-23T04:35:11","slug":"scuffle-vandalism-at-sanothimi-child-correction-centre","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nepalsamaj.com\/en\/scuffle-vandalism-at-sanothimi-child-correction-centre\/","title":{"rendered":"Scuffle, vandalism at Sanothimi Child Correction Centre"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p>Bhadgaun, Jan 23: Scuffle and vandalism occurred at Child Correction Centre in Madhyapur Thimi municipality -2, Sanothimi on Thursday night.<\/p>\n<p>The scuffle between the two groups in the correction centre turned to an incident of vandalism and arson.<\/p>\n<p>A team headed by Chief of Thimi Police Circuit Nawaraj Dhungana reached the child correction centre following the scuffle and attempted to bring the situation under control.<\/p>\n<p>Both the groups who were involved in the scuffle had pelted stones at the police personnel mobilized in the incident site.<\/p>\n<p>As many as 50 Armed Police Force personnel were mobilized when the situation went out of control. The fire engines of Bhaktapur and Kathmandu had doused the fire in the midnight.<\/p>\n<p>Details of loss incurred at the centre due to arson and vandalism are yet to be ascertained, the police circuit said.<\/p>\n<p>The correction centre has a total of 169 inmates, including 145 men and 24 women.<br \/>\nThough the situation now has come under control, a large number of security personnel are keeping vigil at the centre.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bhadgaun, Jan 23: Scuffle and vandalism occurred at Child Correction Centre in Madhyapur Thimi municipality -2, Sanothimi on Thursday night.
