{"id":39298,"date":"2026-01-05T15:22:36","date_gmt":"2026-01-05T09:37:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nepalsamaj.com\/en\/?p=39298"},"modified":"2026-01-05T17:45:46","modified_gmt":"2026-01-05T12:00:46","slug":"travel-ban-on-former-pm-kp-sharma-oli-lifted","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nepalsamaj.com\/en\/travel-ban-on-former-pm-kp-sharma-oli-lifted\/","title":{"rendered":"Inquiry commission lifts travel restriction on former PM Oli"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p>Kathmandu, Jan 5: The Commission formed to probe the incidents related to the September 8\u20139 Gen Z movement has decided to withdraw the travel restrictions imposed on former Prime Minister and CPN (UML) Chair KP Sharma Oli.<\/p>\n<p>A meeting of the Commission held today decided to revoke its September 28 decision that barred Oli from traveling abroad and from leaving the Kathmandu Valley without prior approval from the Commission.<\/p>\n<p>According to Commission member and spokesperson Bigyan Raj Sharma, Oli was questioned in his capacity as the then Prime Minister, after which the restrictions were lifted. A Commission team had reached Oli\u2019s residence at Gundu, Bhaktapur on Sunday as part of the inquiry. Chairman Oli submitted his response in writing.<\/p>\n<p>The Commission has already recorded statements from the then Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, chiefs of four security agencies, and the heads of district administration offices.<br \/>\nThe inquiry body has intensified its work, and the process of recording statements is almost over.
