For this, the municipality has also prepared a curriculum.<br \/>\nText books will now be taught in Tharu language from Grade 1 to 3 in the first phase. The new curriculum is expected to develop listening, speaking and writing skills for children in their mother tongue.<\/p>\n<p>The effort is also likely to help preserve the Tharu language and help with its promotion and advancement.<\/p>\n<p>Mayor Chabilal Tharu said Tharu language will be the medium of teaching from Grade 1 to 3 in the first phase and up to Grade 8 in the second phase.<br \/>\nAs 95 percent of the students in Barbardia municipality speak Tharu language it will be easy for them to learn, said Ratnakumari Pandey, the deputy mayor of the municipality.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Gulria (Bardiya), June 15: Tharu language will now be the medium of teaching in schools in Barbardia municipality of Bardiya.
