Following the court\u2019s order, he was transferred to Dillibazar Prison, confirmed Kathmandu District Police spokesperson SP Pawan Kumar Bhattarai.<\/p>\n<p>Sherpa, who also heads the UML\u2019s Janajati Federation, had been convicted by the Patan High Court last year in a polygamy case filed by his wife, Karishma Kharel, at the Kathmandu District Court.<\/p>\n<p>The District Court had sentenced him to one year in prison and imposed a fine of Rs 5,000. Sherpa had appealed the decision, but the High Court upheld the lower court\u2019s ruling.
