{"id":31942,"date":"2025-09-25T21:13:24","date_gmt":"2025-09-25T15:28:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nepalsamaj.com\/en\/?p=31942"},"modified":"2025-09-25T21:13:24","modified_gmt":"2025-09-25T15:28:24","slug":"ec-begins-updating-voters-list","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nepalsamaj.com\/en\/ec-begins-updating-voters-list\/","title":{"rendered":"EC begins updating voters&#8217; list"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p>Kathmandu, Sept 25: The Election Commission (EC) has started updating voters&#8217; list from Thursday considering the election to the House of Representatives scheduled for March 5 next year.<\/p>\n<p>After the authentication of an ordinance to amend the Voter Registration Act, 2073 by President Ramchandra Paudel, the Commission began registering new voters, which would be continued till November 16.<\/p>\n<p>According to the statement issued by the Commission&#8217;s spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai, Nepali citizens who are over 16-year and have obtained a Nepali citizenship certificate can register their names at the concerned provincial and district election offices every day from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm except on public holidays. However, the newly registered persons as voters will be eligible for voting when they complete 18-year, Bhattarai made it clear.<\/p>\n<p>The Commission has requested to provide the biometric details to the concerned election office through the &#8216;pre-registration&#8217; system via the Commission&#8217;s website.<br \/>\nBy November 2 this year, the number of voters aged 18 will be 18.68 million.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kathmandu, Sept 25: The Election Commission (EC) has started updating voters&#8217; list from Thursday considering the election to the House of Representatives scheduled for March 5 next year.
