The initiative received Rs 20 million from the Koshi Province Government while the the Municipality contributed Rs 2 million and various donors added Rs 1 million.<\/p>\n<p>Kankai Municipality Mayor Rajendra Kumar Pokharel a working procedure has been developed for operating the crematorium, that will come into formal operation within a week.<\/p>\n<p>Gopal Kharel, General Secretary of the Kankai Ghat Management Committee and Coordinator of the Electric Crematorium Infrastructure Construction Committee, said that the body of an 80-year-old woman was cremated during a test of the machine. He said that it will take about 50 minutes to cremate a full-size human body in the electric crematorium.
