{"id":22642,"date":"2025-05-13T23:39:08","date_gmt":"2025-05-13T17:54:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nepalsamaj.com\/en\/?p=22642"},"modified":"2025-05-13T23:39:08","modified_gmt":"2025-05-13T17:54:08","slug":"nepal-seeks-investment-from-south-korea-for-railway-development-expansion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nepalsamaj.com\/en\/nepal-seeks-investment-from-south-korea-for-railway-development-expansion\/","title":{"rendered":"Nepal seeks investment from South Korea for railway development, expansion"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p>Kathmandu, May 13: Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Devendra Dahal has urged South Korean investors to invest in Nepal&#8217;s rail service development and expansion with full confidence.<\/p>\n<p>At a meeting with the representatives of South Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) on Tuesday, Minister Dahal asked the South Korean delegation for their investment in Nepal&#8217;s rail service adding that development of railway was also a key priority of Nepal government.<\/p>\n<p>Dahal asked the South Korean team for carrying out study and research to expand rail service considering the religious, cultural and tourist destinations in Nepal.<\/p>\n<p>He argued that Nepal was creating investment climate for rail service expansion and stated that the modalities for investment could be discussed too.<\/p>\n<p>Ministry&#8217;s Secretary Keshab Kumar Sharma said that e-rail expansion could be useful in Nepal given immense potential for hydropower production.<\/p>\n<p>Likewise, CEO of Investment Board Sushil Gyawali said a taskforce comprising experts from both countries would be formed within some days and different modalities for the development and expansion of railway would be studied.<\/p>\n<p>CEO of Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) Han Moon Hee shared about his company&#8217;s 126-year-long history and experiences in railway development and expressed readiness to execute assignment for the same in Nepal too.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kathmandu, May 13: Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Devendra Dahal has urged South Korean investors to invest in Nepal&#8217;s rail service development and expansion with full confidence.
