{"id":19233,"date":"2025-03-11T21:47:44","date_gmt":"2025-03-11T16:02:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nepalsamaj.com\/en\/?p=19233"},"modified":"2025-03-11T21:47:44","modified_gmt":"2025-03-11T16:02:44","slug":"12-killed-45-injured-after-bus-overturns-in-ne-south-africa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nepalsamaj.com\/en\/12-killed-45-injured-after-bus-overturns-in-ne-south-africa\/","title":{"rendered":"12 killed, 45 injured after bus overturns in NE South Africa"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p>At least 12 people were killed and 45 others injured on Tuesday morning after a bus overturned in South Africa&#8217;s northeastern Gauteng Province.<\/p>\n<p>Andile Mngwevu, a member of the Mayoral Committee for Transport in Ekurhuleni City, said that the accident occurred on a highway in Ekurhuleni City near Johannesburg&#8217;s OR Tambo International Airport at about 6:45 a.m. local time (0445 GMT).<\/p>\n<p>At least 12 people died at the scene, and the 45 injured passengers were transported to nearby hospitals, said Mngwevu. &#8220;Our heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased, and our prayers for a speedy recovery to those who have been taken to various hospitals around the area.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>According to Mngwevu, an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident.
