{"id":19036,"date":"2025-03-08T14:46:10","date_gmt":"2025-03-08T09:01:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nepalsamaj.com\/en\/?p=19036"},"modified":"2025-03-08T14:46:10","modified_gmt":"2025-03-08T09:01:10","slug":"monarchy-cannot-be-alternative-to-republic-minister-lekhak","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nepalsamaj.com\/en\/monarchy-cannot-be-alternative-to-republic-minister-lekhak\/","title":{"rendered":"Monarchy cannot be alternative to republic: Minister Lekhak"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p>Doti, March 8: Minister for Home Affairs Ramesh Lekhak ruled out monarchy as an alternative to republic system.<\/p>\n<p>Minister Lekhak delivered this remark in a press meet organized by Nepal Press Union here while heading to Achham district to inaugurate the Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Project Implementation Unit Office.<\/p>\n<p>Lekhak reiterated, &#8220;The way monarchy cannot be replaced by republic, democracy cannot be substituted with autocracy.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>On a different note, he challenged the former monarch to engage in politics and contest election openly if he was yearning for ruling people.<\/p>\n<p>On the context of constitution amendment, he mentioned that the groundwork to it was underway.<\/p>\n<p>The Minister explained that homework was being carried out as per the agreement made between Nepali Congress and CPN UML prior to the formation of incumbent government to form a task force to amend the constitution.
