{"id":15297,"date":"2025-01-06T22:17:51","date_gmt":"2025-01-06T16:32:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nepalsamaj.com\/en\/?p=15297"},"modified":"2025-01-06T22:17:51","modified_gmt":"2025-01-06T16:32:51","slug":"public-transport-fare-goes-up","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nepalsamaj.com\/en\/public-transport-fare-goes-up\/","title":{"rendered":"Public transport fare goes up"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p>Kathmandu, Jan 6: The Department of Transport Management has increased the fare of the public transport and cargo carriers.<\/p>\n<p>Issuing a notice on Monday, the Department said the fare for inter-provincial public transport was increased by 3.3 percent and the fare of the cargo carriers was hiked by 0.81 percent in the hilly areas and 0.05 percent in Tarai.<\/p>\n<p>The weightage of fuel is considered 35 percent, and 65 percent of other indicators to determine the fare of the public vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>The Department said that the decision to hike the fare was taken following the minister-level decision on December 26, 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Director General of Department Rajib Pokharel said that the fare of the public transport was adjusted since it was the same for two years despite a price hike in petroleum products.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kathmandu, Jan 6: The Department of Transport Management has increased the fare of the public transport and cargo carriers.
