{"id":13423,"date":"2024-12-06T21:01:44","date_gmt":"2024-12-06T15:16:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nepalsamaj.com\/en\/?p=13423"},"modified":"2024-12-06T21:01:44","modified_gmt":"2024-12-06T15:16:44","slug":"government-preparing-to-bring-ai-related-policies-communications-minister-gurung","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nepalsamaj.com\/en\/government-preparing-to-bring-ai-related-policies-communications-minister-gurung\/","title":{"rendered":"Government preparing to bring AI-related policies: Communications Minister Gurung"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p>Kavrepalanchowk, Dec 6: Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung, has said the government would bring a policy related to Artificial Intelligence (AI).<\/p>\n<p>Addressing the inaugural session of &#8216;IT Meet-2024&#8217; organized by the Kathmandu University Computer Club at Dhulikhel today, Minister Gurung clarified that laws would be formulated holding discussion after bringing AI policy.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Further programmes can be introduced through information technology after formulating laws. The Ministry has been doing homework for the same,&#8221; he mentioned.<\/p>\n<p>Also the Spokesperson of the government, Gurung shared, &#8220;This is the era of IT. We will implement making AI related laws even for Digital Nepal Framework.<\/p>\n<p>Stating that corruption could be controlled if e-governance is brought into force, he stressed, &#8220;E-governance can be implemented through Digital Nepal Framework and corruption can be controlled only after its introduction.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Communications Minister expressed the view that plans, programmes and budget of all three-tier governments could be managed through e-governance, adding corruption could be controlled if e-governance programme is implemented in seven provinces, 753 local levels, 22 ministries and 761 governments, government offices across the country and necessary policies and laws should be formulated for this.<\/p>\n<p>Similarly, Dean of School of Engineering of KU, Manish Pokharel said it is expected that the IT Meet-2024 would be a platform to promote innovation and creativity imparting new opportunities and inspiration by uniting youths of IT field.<\/p>\n<p>Various activities like coding competition, project demonstration, gaming events, goggling competition would be organized in the two-day Meet.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kavrepalanchowk, Dec 6: Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung, has said the government would bring a policy related to Artificial Intelligence (AI).
