Kathmandu, Oct 22: Coordinator of the CPN (Maoist Centre) and former Prime Minister, Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, has stated that we must move forward by strengthening democracy and building on achievements such as the federal democratic republic, secularism, and the proportional system.
He said this in a message of best wishes he gave today on the auspicious occasion of Nepal Sambat New Year 1146, expressing heartfelt wishes for happiness, peace and prosperity to all Nepalis living at home and abroad.
Coordinator Dahal said, “Today we are at a turning point to reunite the nation and move it forward on a progressive path. The complexities currently arising cannot be resolved without the progressive ‘servicing’ of democracy.”
Referring to the Nepal Sambat calendar as a symbol of the historical pride, cultural identity and national unity of Nepalis, Coordinator Dahal said, “This calendar is the original calendar of Nepalis. Since it is a shared pride of all castes and communities and a calendar unique to the whole of Nepal and Nepalis, we should all take pride in it.”
Highlighting that national unity among all political forces in favour of change is an urgent necessity, Coordinator Dahal said the true good wishes for Nepal Sambat 1146 would be a joint resolve to move forward towards prosperity with full implementation of the constitution, serious self-reflection, and social justice.
