KATHMANDU, Dec 17 : Voting for the new leadership of the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist–Leninist) began on Tuesday at Bhrikutimandap as part of the party’s 11th National General Convention.
According to Sanuraj Pokharel, vice-chairperson of the Central Election Commission, candidates for the party chair — incumbent chair KP Sharma Oli and Ishwar Pokharel — have already cast their ballots.
A total of 660 candidates are contesting for 301 seats in the UML central committee. Voting is being conducted using 80 electronic voting machines, with 2,263 delegates participating in the election process.
