Lalitpur, March 21: Vice President Ramsahay Prasad Yadav has praised the contributions made by the Muslim Commission in the past seven years adding that further effective programmes should be run for ensuring rights, identity and empowerment of the Muslim community.
Addressing an event organized on the 7th Establishment Day of the Muslim Commission, the Vice President said that Commission has worked remarkably in the fields of education, employment, women empowerment, social goodwill and cultural promotion to translate equality, justice and inclusive federal democratic republic system ensured by the Constitution of Nepal.
“The contribution made by the Muslim community for Nepal’s history, culture, trade, education, arts and social goodwill is invaluable,” Vice President Yadav added.
He also suggested that the Commission should run some special programmes to ensure the meaningful participation of Muslim youths in the state organs on the basis of their population.
Likewise, the Commission should continuously run the programmes to ensure a leading role of Muslim women in social, economic and political arenas.
During the event, Vice President Yadav extended best wishes to all Muslim community on the occasion of the Eid-ul-Fitr festival.
Different personalities were also feted for their outstanding contributions to the social life in the country, the Commission stated.
