UML secretariat meeting reviews HoR election

Kathmandu, April 3: The secretariat meeting of the CPN (UML) held at the party central office in Chyasal this evening made a brief review of the election to the House of Representatives (HoR) conducted on March 5 and decided to uphold the public verdict expressed through the election.

Talking to the media after the meeting, UML assistant general secretary Lekhraj Bhatta said the meeting extended congratulations to Prime Minister Balendra Shah and the council of ministers.

The UML secretariat meeting was chaired by the party’s Acting Chairman Ram Bahadur Thapa.

Likewise, the meeting seriously discussed the text of the speech delivered at the first meeting of the current HoR on April 2 by UML parliamentary party leader Thapa, according to Bhatta.

Bhatta also mentioned that the UML has a longstanding and friendly relationship with the institutions established under the scope of Nepal’s constitution and existing laws, including the Nepali Army and all other security bodies, bureaucracy, and the international community.

The meeting has asked the government to safely repatriate Nepali migrant workers in the West Asian countries if they wish to return home, as hundreds of thousands of Nepali citizens were at risk following the ongoing conflict in the region.
