Kathmandu, Sept 13: CPN (UML) has passed the annual action plan today. UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel informed that the secretariat meeting held today at the party central office at Chayasal, Lalitpur has passed the action plan based on the suggestions made by the Politburo meeting.
According to him, 18 different topics are included in the action plan. Renewal and documentation of party membership, regular convention, remaining district conventions to be completed by the end of November are included in the action plan. The meeting has further approved the plan of making the party the largest one in 2084 BS general election.
According to Pokharel, youth summit will be organized with the aim of establishing the nation-building role of youth.
The party has expressed grief over the demise of Communist Party of India (Marxist) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury. The meeting decided that senior Vice President Ishwar Pokharel will go to join the last rites of Yechury.
On another note, General Secretary Pokharel claimed there was rising optimism among the public after the formation of incumbent government headed by party chair KP Sharma Oli. —
