UML leader Pant appointed education Minister

Kathmandu, April 23: CPN (UML) leader Raghuji Pant has been appointed as the Minister for Education, Science and Technology today.

He was appointed to the post by President Ramchandra Paudel on the recommendation of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. Pant was appointed after Education Minister Bidya Bhattarai resigned on April 21, citing health reasons.

The newly appointed Education Minister Pant is an MP elected by the CPN (UML) through the proportional representation electoral system.

He is currently a member of the State Affairs committee under the House of Representatives (HoR). Pant is scheduled to take oath of office and secrecy on Thursday.
