Kathmandu, Dec 30: The Gurung community marked Tamu Lhosar today by bidding farewell to the old year and welcoming the new one with vibrant celebrations across the capital. Observed as the New Year festival of the Gurung community, Tamu Lhosar is celebrated with special rituals, cultural displays and community gatherings.
The government declared a public holiday on the occasion. In Kathmandu, members of the Gurung community took out cultural processions showcasing their traditional dress, music and identity. The procession culminated at Tundikhel, where it turned into a formal celebratory program.
