BBC: The Wall Street Journal is reporting that US President Donald Trump is considering sending 10,000 additional ground troops to the Middle East.
The potential deployment is to give Trump “more military options even as he weighs peace talks with Tehran”, it adds.
The force would likely include infantry and armoured vehicles, the outlet reports, and would come on top of the 5,000 US Marines that have already been deployed to the region. It is not clear where exactly the troops would be deployed.
