Agency, April 4: Veteran forward Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mane starred as Al Nassr secured a commanding win in the Saudi Pro League on Friday night.
Al Nassr defeated Al Najma 5-2 at Al Awwal Park, extending their lead at the top of the league table.
Ronaldo and Mane both scored two goals each, while Abdullah Al Hamdan added one for the home side. For Al Najma, Rakan Al-Tulayhi and Felipe Cardoso found the net.
Al Najma took an early lead in the 22nd minute when Al-Tulayhi opened the scoring. However, Al Nassr responded in first-half stoppage time, with Al Hamdan netting in the eighth minute of added time to level the match at 1-1.
Moments later, Mane struck to put Al Nassr 2-1 ahead before the break.
The visitors fought back again in the 48th minute, as Cardoso scored to make it 2-2. But Al Nassr quickly regained control, with Ronaldo converting a penalty in the 56th minute to restore the lead.
Ronaldo then grabbed his second goal of the night in the 72nd minute, putting Al Nassr firmly in command. Mane sealed the emphatic victory deep into stoppage time, scoring in the fifth minute of added time in the second half to complete the 5-2 triumph.
With the win, Al Nassr remain top of the standings with 70 points from 27 matches, while Al Najma sit bottom of the table with just 8 points from the same number of games.
