Birgunj (Parsa), Jan 5 : The Parsa District Administration Office has imposed a prohibitory order in Birgunj Metropolitan City from this afternoon to prevent a possible clash between two communities.
According to Chief District Officer (CDO) Bhola Dahal, the decision was taken by the District Security Committee following a series of protest programs held by the two groups in recent days. The order came into effect from 1 p.m. today and will remain in force until further notice.
Under the order, gatherings, assemblies, rallies, and demonstrations of any kind are prohibited within the designated perimeter — from Bus Park in the east to Sirsiya Bridge in the west, Power House Chowk in the north, and Shankaracharya Gate in the south.
CDO Dahal said the prohibitory order was issued under Section 6 (3a) of the Local Administration Act, 2028 (1971). He warned that anyone violating the order will be taken into custody and face legal action.
