Premier League: Manchester United suffer humiliating defeat

Newcastle, April 14: Manchester United endured a humiliating defeat in the English Premier League, falling 4-1 to Newcastle United in a match held on Sunday night. The loss marks United’s 14th defeat of the league season.

The match, played at St. James’ Park, saw Newcastle dominate with goals from Harvey Barnes (2), Sandro Tonali, and Bruno Guimarães. United’s only consolation came from Alejandro Garnacho.

Sandro Tonali opened the scoring for Newcastle in the 24th minute, giving the hosts an early lead. Manchester United responded in the 37th minute when Garnacho netted the equalizer to make it 1-1.

However, Newcastle regained control early in the second half. Barnes scored his first in the 49th minute and followed up with another in the 64th, extending the lead to 3-1. Bruno Guimarães sealed the emphatic win with a goal in the 77th minute.

With the victory, Newcastle climbed to fourth place on the table with 56 points from 31 matches. Meanwhile, Manchester United—having played one more game—remain in 14th place, continuing a disappointing campaign.
