Premier League leaders Liverpool stunned by Fulham in 3-2 defeat

Agency, April 7: Premier League frontrunners Liverpool were handed a surprise 3-2 defeat by Fulham in a thrilling encounter on Sunday night.

The hosts produced a spirited performance, with goals from Ryan Sessegnon, Alex Iwobi, and Rodrigo Muniz sealing the victory. Liverpool’s goals came from Alexis Mac Allister and Luis Díaz, but they weren’t enough to avoid the upset.

Liverpool got off to a bright start, taking the lead in the 14th minute through Mac Allister. However, Fulham turned the game on its head with a dominant 15-minute spell. Sessegnon leveled the score in the 23rd minute, followed by Iwobi putting Fulham ahead in the 32nd. Muniz added a third in the 37th minute to give the home side a commanding 3-1 advantage.

Liverpool fought back in the second half, with Luis Díaz narrowing the gap in the 72nd minute, but despite their efforts, they couldn’t find an equalizer.

With the result, Liverpool remain at the top of the Premier League table with 73 points from 31 matches. Fulham, meanwhile, climb to eighth place with 48 points from the same number of games.
