Kathmandu, March 18: Prime Minister Sushila Karki has thanked the Nepali Communist Party (NCP) for its supportive role in making the election to the House of Representatives (HoR) a success.
A party delegation comprising its coordinator and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, and leaders Narayan Kaji Shrestha and Barsha Man Pun visited the Prime Minister at her official residence in Baluwatar today.
During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on the recent elections to the House of Representatives (HoR) and on contemporary political issues, according to the Prime Minister’s advisor Ram Bahadur Rawal.
The Prime Minister congratulated those party leaders in the delegation who emerged victorious in the election.
“You all took part in the election. You contributed to creating an election-friendly environment and helped find a way forward for the nation through peaceful and democratic procedures. Thank you all. Congratulations to the elected members of the House of Representatives, and I wish you all a successful term,” the Head of the government said on the occasion.
During the meeting, NCP coordinator Dahal said, “There was a possibility that the nation could have been pushed into another crisis if the election had not been held. The duty you fulfilled with such courage and hard work is highly significant and commendable.” He also said that the party had been in favour of the election since its announcement.
As the delegation concluded, it was stated that the mandate to complete the election within six months while leading the government amid adversity was highly challenging, but it was made possible due to the prestige, image, and dedication of Prime Minister Karki.
Prior to this, the Prime Minister had met with other political leaders and representatives and thanked them for their support in making the election successful.
