Palestinian President Renews Call for International Pressure on Israel to Halt Gaza Genocide

The Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas reiterated his call on the international community to essentially pressure the Israeli occupation government to halt the war of genocide being unleashed on the Gaza Strip.

He stressed the importance of forging an enduring ceasefire and opening the crossings to urgently get humanitarian aid into Gaza.

During his meeting with High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, Abbas stressed the need for compelling Israel to stop its assaults on cities, villages and Palestinian camps in the West Bank.

He also called for halting the unlawful settlement expansion, settlers’ attacks and seizing and deducting Palestinian tax funds in violation of international law.

In addition, Abbas stated that it is imperative to forge a political process that is based on the internationally-backed two-state solution principle through supporting the State of Palestine to obtain full membership in the United Nations, alongside the increasing European recognition of the State of Palestine on the 1967 borders.
