Gorkha, Jan 21: Nepal Samajbadi Party (Naya Shakti) Chair and former Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai has said that only development and prosperity can establish people’s rights as envisaged in the Constitution.
Speaking at a program held in Gorkha district headquarters today, he said that the rights written in the Constitution are currently limited to paper only. “Political changes have made it possible to speak and write today,” Dr Bhattarai said, “Everyone’s rights are written in the constitution. But development and prosperity are needed for the people to enjoy them in practice.”
He emphasized that future politics should focus on how to take the country towards prosperity quickly.
The former Prime Minister said that development and prosperity cannot be achieved through yesterday’s political path alone. “The country’s development and prosperity will not be achieved by contesting elections for power only.”
Dr Bhattarai said that politics is the origin of all policies and if it is dirty then it is time to clean up the foundation policy of politics.
