Kathmandu, Dec 18: Sudurpaschim Royals has entered the final of Nepal Premier League (NPL) T20 Cricket Tournament defeating Janakpur Bolts by eight wickets.
In the match held at Kirtipur-based TU Cricket Ground on Wednesday, Sudurpaschim Royals chased the victory target of 140-run in 18.3 overs at the loss of two wickets.
For Sudurpaschim, Binod Bhandari scored the highest 58 runs in 55 balls with three boundaries and three sixes.
Similarly, captain Dipendra Singh Airee gathered 20 runs (not out) in 16 balls with one four and one six while Saif Zaib gathered 32 runs in 21 balls, Brandon McMullen 25 runs in 19 balls.
Towards bowling, Lalit Rajbanshi and Kishore Mahato took one wicket each. Earlier, elected to bat first after winning the toss, Janakpur Bolts made 139 runs in allotted 20 overs by losing nine wickets.
For Janakpur, James Neesham gathered the highest 45 runs in 23 balls with three boundaries and three sixes while Shubh Kansakar 26 runs in 24 balls, Lahiru Milantha 12 runs each. Aasif Sheikh and Arniko Yadav made 11 runs each.
Likewise, Sudurpaschim’s captain Airee took three wickets while Saif Zaib two wickets, Scott Kuggeleijn and Abinash Bohara one wicket each.
With this loss, Janakpur Bolts will get chance to enter the final. Janakpur Bolts will play with Karnali Yaks in second qualifier to be held on Thursday.
