Nepali Army rescues 56 people in Janakpur

Janakpur, Sept 27: The Nepali Army has rescued 56 people who were trapped when a tableau being taken around during the Dashami festival cultural fair in Janakpur collapsed.

The tableau broke Friday night, while being taken around during the fair held in the premises of Mata Rajdevi Temple. All those trapped were safely rescued under the leadership of the Nepali Army, with the support of other security agencies as well.

A religious fair is organised in that area of Janakpurdham during Bijaya Dashami, under the management of Mahavir Youth Committee and the Shriram Youth Committee, among other organisations.

The Nepali Army has stated that a joint team of the Nepali Army, the Armed Police Force, and Nepal Police has safely rescued all individuals trapped with the help of JCBs and cranes brought from various agencies.
