Kathmandu, July 26: The player auction for the second edition of the franchise-based Nepal Premier League (NPL) is scheduled to take place on August 9 (Shrawan 24). The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) announced the auction date through an official statement released today.
Earlier, CAN had opened player registration from July 12 to July 22 (Asar 28 to Shrawan 6). According to the association, a total of 458 players have registered for the auction.
CAN stated that the names of all registered players will be provided to the eight participating franchises. Based on their preferences and the criteria set by CAN’s technical team, the franchises will shortlist and select players to participate in the final auction.
All eight teams will select players who meet both their strategic needs and the technical standards established by CAN, as they prepare to build their squads for the upcoming season.
