Nepal govt stops providing on-arrival visa to Iranian citizens

Kathmandu, March 13: Nepal has decided to stop granting on-arrival visa to the Iranian nationals.

With this provision in place, the Iranian citizens except government and diplomatic passport bearers need their visas granted by the related Nepali Embassies abroad to enter Nepal.

The Immigration Department informed that the number of countries barred from receiving on-arrival visa from Nepal government has reached 13. Other countries in this list are Nigeria, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Switzerland, Cameron, Somalia, Liberia, Ethiopia, Iraq, Palestine, Afghanistan and Syria.

Officiating Director General at the Department, Tikaram Dhakal, informed that even the people having travel document of refugee status need to receive visa from the Nepali embassies abroad while entering Nepal.
