NC suggested to prioritize policies for investment friendly environment

Kathmandu, April 28: The Nepal Chamber of Commerce has suggested the ruling Nepali Congress (NC) to give priority for investment friendly environment and production-focused policies in the annual budget of the upcoming fiscal year.

At a programme organized by the NC’s Industry and Trade Department in regard to the formulation of upcoming fiscal year’s budget, the Chamber submitted the recommendations along with the challenges and reforms measures in the areas of industry and commerce.

The Acting President of Chamber, Dipak Kumar Malhotra, handed over the recommendations to NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba.

The recommendation includes policy coordination for creating investment-friendly environment in the country and has stated that the private sector’s economic risk bearing capacity was too low, which has obstructed them to take loan from the banks and financial institutions to begin new enterprises.

The Chamber has also sought business-friendly policies in the real estate sector in the new budget. Likewise, it said that investment-friendly environment and implementation of production-focused practical policies should in place to reduce dependency on agriculture.
