Lalitpur, Sept 19: The central execution committee meeting of the Nepali Congress has concluded that NC was committed to addressing the genuine concerns raised by Gen-Z people.
The meeting held under the chairmanship of Vice Chairman of party, Purna Bahadur Khadka, paid tribute to the youths, security persons and others who lost lives in the protests occurred on September 8 and 9. It also expressed deep reverence to those sacrificing their lives for establishing the Federal Democratic Republic Nepal based on justice, equality, freedom and pluralism. The families of the deceased ones were extended condolence.
The party wished speedy recovery of the injured ones and demanded fair investigation into the horrible incidents occurred during Gen-Z protest.
It also condemned the attack on party President Sher Bahadur Deuba and central member Dr Arzu Rana, and vandalism, looting and arson on party office.
Severe concern was shown against the attack of the criminal gangs on foundational pillars of democracy- office buildings of executive, parliament and judiciary. Equal concern was shown over the loss of huge public and private property in course of the protest.
The party reiterated that the dissolution of the House of Representatives was against constitution and Supreme Court decisions, so it was unconstitutional. However, NC is firm in giving a political outlet to this crisis by remaining within constitution, according to Krishna Prasad Paudel, Chief Secretary at NC central office.
The NC will hold a broader discussion with stakeholders spanning political parties, civil society and experts for the restoration of peace, democracy, progression and prosperity, and for protection of Federal Democratic Republic and the constitution by lifting the country out of crisis.

Various office bearers including Dhanraj Gurung, Gagan Kumar Thapa, Bal Bahadur KC, Sujata Koirala, and Anand Prasad Dhungana expressed their views during the meeting.
