Morang, June 7: Nepali Congress (NC) general secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa has said his party was performing the proactive role as the main opposition party in parliament.
Talking to media persons at Biratnagar Airport today, Thapa said NC was not involved in any exercise to make its government right now. “We have no perception to make the government partnering with the UML or Maoist Centre. For this, no effort and dialogue has taken,” Thapa added.
The NC general secretary, however, stated that NC President Sher Bahadur was holding talks with the leadership of the CPN (Maoist Centre) and CPN (UML) to complete the remaining tasks of the peace process and implement the constitution.
On a separate note, Thapa said the general conventions of the party’s sister wings will be held within a month and the leadership row will be finalized based on consensus.
