Kathmandu, Oct 24: General Secretaries of the Nepali Congress, Bishwo Prakash Sharma and Gagan Kumar Thapa, have appealed to the party line to involve in voters registration as per Election Commission’s notice.
The Election Commission is registering and updating the voters’ list till mid-November.
They appealed to the province committee office bearers and members of the party to launch ‘all-out campaign for voter registration’ immediately after the Chhath festival. They reminded the party leaders and cadres that the country would hold the election coming March 5.
The General Secretaries issued a joint circular, drawing attention of the district committees and subordinates to involve in voters registration drive. The party leaders and cadres are directed to make aware the youths on how they could register their names as voters. Process on acquisition of citizenship and voter identity card should be made clear to the youths, Sharma and Thapa reminded.
