NC committed to good governance, prosperity: Spokesperson Chalise

Patan (Lalitpur), March 26: Nepali Congress Spokesperson Devraj Chalise has mentioned that the NC was committed to good governance, prosperity and people’s progress.

At a news conference organised by the party at its central office, Sanepa on Thursday, Chalise opined that the NC would play the role of opposition, respecting the people’s mandate.

“Not only for election, the party is active in each moment. It had prepared the environment for election. NC is always with the government on right issues and it gives priority to democratic norms and values and protection of people’s rights. We will play the role of supportive opposition in crisis,” he argued.

Stating that we will pay attention for structural to policy-level reforms and transformation of the party by reviewing performance in 165 constituencies, he expressed the results of recently held election was beyond the expectation.

Chalise stressed investigation into the property of the people holding public posts from 2046 BS to 2082 BS, adding the issue of good governance is frequently raised in the country.

“The government should pay attention in property investigation and good governance. There should not be politicization of crime and nor criminalization of politics. The character and attitude should be corrected. There should be clean and healthy politics. Corruption is a social problem and it should be ended,” he underlined.

Saying many friends did not change their party but changed their votes in this election, Spokesperson Chalise pointed out the need of orientation to make party’s discipline effective.
